Summer Film Camp at Art Happening
A week-long crash course in filmmaking!
Do you have the creative eye it takes to make a film? Come create with us, as we spend this mid-summee week learning the rewarding ins-and-outs of filmmaking in a fun, open, and intuitive way. Through a variety of structured activities , camp participants will go through a crash course in short film production. Each individual will try their hands in all aspects of film production: from writing a script, to storyboarding, to lighting a scene, to recording sound. Instruction will be given on how to use cell phones for practical filmmaking, as well as using DSLR cameras to shoot a short film. Furthermore, participants will engage in multiple conceptual workshops, allowing them to think deeper about what is presented in a movie, and how the frame influences what is understood by those that watch movies. This all culminates in the fifth day, which is spent using the skills acquired in the previous days by shooting a short film!
